Kate Walker release balloons in the night sky in honor of Diren Dede, a German exchange student, at his vigil on May 2, 2014 at the Fort Missoula soccer field where he played. Kate Walker and her husband, Randy Smith, hosted the student in their Missoula home before he was killed in a shooting by Markus Kaarma, their neighbor.
